Social Media

I remember when Myspace first came to be... What a fun way to keep in touch with your friends! Share music, ideas, thoughts, dates whatever you wanted. Facebook was only used for college students at the time still, I had a friend telling me about FB being used on campus. Ok, cool, well I still have you on Myspace so its all good.

Then Facebook took over the world... which is cool, Myspace became a distant memory, I haven't been on it in probably 2 years or so...

Skype is definatley a useful tool, but the statements they have made about how they are going to become bigger than Facebook fell flat, and now with the IPhone's Face Time app Skype seems to be in even more danger.

And then there is Twitter, which I just don't get the point to unless you are a celebrity or company, no one cares what is going on in your life in 140 words or less... "Had eggs for breakfast, they were awesome!" Yeah, definatley don't care... Twitter didn't really come out and SAY they are going to take on FB, instead it held onto its coat-tails for the ride, anything you post on one you have the option of it showing up on the other... way to leech twitter.

And then of course we have what is probably the biggest social media flop to date, Google Plus. Don't get me wrong I love Google, I love Blogger, Google is great and awesome but the promises of Google Plus being bigger than FB and it will take over as the "IT" social media escape turned out to be completely false! Sorry Google, I still love you...

Face it, Facebook is here to stay and stay at the top!

I'm not an expert on these sites or how to use all of them, I know enough because of my career field, it kind of requires I am familiar with them and their usability. This is just my opinion and some rememberences of magazine articles...

Happy New Year

I had such a good New Year celebration. The BF and I ended up watching the ENTIRE Walking Dead marathon on AMC.

Such a good show! My BF had never really watched it, I have seen all of season 1 and was excited to watch season 2... we made it through and the marathon ended at 1am.

Dinner was stuffed scallops served on the shells SSOOOO good! But filling! I could only eat 2 out of the 3 shells in front of me!

LOL, "He can't figure out the 3 seashels!"

Anyway... Enough Demolition Man... Back to New Years.

At Midnight we poped 2 bottles of Champagne, I drank white the BF drank red and his idea was I pop his bottle, he pops mine and we pour for each other kiss and drink! And that's what we did.

It was a low key, yet fun evening, and the perfect way to spend New Years with the person I love so much! Thanks for a great evening and I hope everyone's was as good as mine!

Horrible Bosses

No, I'm not talking about the movie (which by the way was way oversold) but have you ever had "that boss" ? the one who thinks they are way more important than they really are?
Maybe takes things/themselves too seriously? Or tries to be scary by making up rules?

Yeah we have one of those. Thank goodness I'm leaving this place soon and also I don't have to deal with this lady very often but hey, co-workers talk and I'm tired of the stories.

This morning she decided to make up rules about our undershirts and what color they are supposed to be... the regulations clearly states "black, white or mathing color of outside shirt" (slightly paraphrased) well a co-worker had a blask long sleeve shirt under a blue work shirt and after a bossy hissy fit she was asked to take it off. Its cold here, screw you...

I printed off and highlighted the regulation (which was just revised in Aug 2011) and gave it to my co-worker and told her to keep this on her and anytime horrible bosses decide to make up rules, whip it out and shut them up!
