DJ Wars

So my DJ life partner and I have an understanding. We are the 2 best DJ's at our station and we go back and forth between number 1. We are also the Officail Rock Stars of American Forces Network Korea!

We are both on Facebook and our shows are back to back. Well if for some reason one of us needs to leave the board DON'T leave Facebook open!

Why?

Because we are SNEAKY!

DJ Wars is basically talking a whole lotta smack to the other DJ's around the Peninsula (there are 7) And the fans get to vote on their favorite. If you leave your fan page open its fair game! If someone gets to your page you MUST leave the post up! Usually its something along the lines of "I bow down to Sam's superior DJ skills" its all in good fun but be careful!

Dreams

So my pain medication gives me strange dreams... My first one, the first night I was on them started off with some friends and I picking grapes, washing them off and eating them.

Seems innocent enough right? Then it takes a turn for the worst. The grapes were filled with bugs, big ones... we were spitting out hairy spiders and so on... Brightly and strangely colored.

The next one wasn't bad though... a friend I haven't even thought of in a while, we were in this HUGE top of the line, primo health spa, and ran across this room full of Loufa sponges of ALL colors!

Thought how cool it would be to do this summer! Fill up buckets with water and soap and have a "Summer Snowball Fight"

Then a few nights later I had a dream about worms, giant ones... as long as I am tall! Just slithering down the street.

Hopefully they don't get worse! I may have to ask to switch meds!

Random Thought...

According to my statistics over 60% of my fan base are guys, I find that funny. And they call in and request songs, usually the most girly songs you wouldn't think a guy would request.

Music from... Justin Bieber (gag)
Or Miley Cyrus (double gag)

Either way, its entertaining for me when they dedicate it to a friend and I get to call them out!

I'm hungry...

Pathelogical Liars

Ok, everyone has lied at least ONCE in their lives... it happens to all of us. And its ok, but to lie for the simple thrill of lying, I just can't understand that.

And even worse, to hurt all the people around you and just not care. Its something I simply can't wrap my brain around.

So I did a little research and what I found out was...

1.) Everything they say is truth to them, no matter how insane it sounds or how small and meaningless, it is that person's 100% truth no matter how many KNOW its a lie.

2.) They don't value honesty therefore have no regard for loyalty, so be careful what you tell that person cause they WILL use it against you.

3.) When caught in a lie they will back pedal or turn it on you, then eventually contradict themselves because they can't keep track of all the lies going on.

Be careful...

Broken Bone Update

After a few more x-rays I have a fractured fibula, the break only went half way through and is healing already.

No cast, but I will have to go back next month for another round of x-rays and to make sure its continuing to heal properly.

Reduction

To put some beans out there, I have been debating a Breast Reduction for a long time. At least 4 years of serious consideration.

Well, I just had my first referral! We went over some of the problems I have been having, back pain, irritation, emotional difficulties... and on May 18 I have my first sugical consult, to determine the right size and generally how the operation will go. I could lose up to 15 pounds with just the reduction!

Speaking of weight, with my joint problems and now a broken leg I have not been allowed to do much PT-wise for the last 6 months I am embarassingly enough sitting at my heaviest weight ever. I have been given the go-ahead to ride a bike and swim! So to the pool I go!

Also starting physical therapy soon... Getting my body back into working order after all the stuff I have put it through!

Broken

So get this...

5 weeks ago our unit was playing soccer, and me and another co-worker collided at FULL force! (he went down, I did not... love throwing that out there) and immediately my left knee goes numb.

I'm pretty darn tough, so I kept trying to play and it pain got so bad when I got home I fell down and cried! So I decided to go to medical. The doc I saw was NOT the brightest crayon in the box. I tried to explain to her that I have been injured several times and this is like no pain I have ever felt. No x-ray, no second opinion, nothing.

She tells me that its either a severe muscle spasm or ligament damage... hmmmm.... thats a pretty big freakin' gap there!

"If the pain gets worse come back" Gee, thanks lady...

So 5 weeks of constant pain I finally get an appointment (I waited for 1 of 2 docs I am willing to see)

Got an x-ray...

MY LEG IS BROKEN!! Its some "useless bone" which is broken, cool... the pain resinates from my knee, up to my hip and down to my ankle... this one little "useless bone" has cause my whole leg to swell and hurt!

But its good to know what is wrong!

I have to go back Monday for more x-rays and treatment!

Theme Nights

Yes, theme nights... we just had our first since re-instating this wonderous monthly event. And what was the first night?

PIRATES!

Now, National Talk Like a Pirate Day isn't until Sept. 19th. But Pirates are just too awesome to pass up as our first Official Monthly Theme Night! We had several people asking what the occasion was and wanting pictures with us. It was a lot of fun!

We also had a plank that we signed to commemorate it the night of Pilage and Plunder!

Our next night out sometime in May (date to be released) is Zombie Night! We have already ordered the liquid latex and signable Tomb stone!

I can't tell you how wonderful my friends are out here! (everyone from Greece, don't be jealous, I still love you!) My 2 closest friends here, Rob and Matt, my boys, don't know what I would do without you!

Random Thought...

So a friend I work with got an Easter care package from his Grandmother. There was a lot of stuff crammed into this little box, and good stuff too. Well my friend doesn't really eat chocolate so he gave me a White Chotolate Cross and Milk Chocolate Jesus Praying Hands...

I feel a little weird about eating this, but I really like chocolate, so I'll get over it somehow!

Also, just a fun fact, this image in the world's most popular tattoo!

Underwater

Took a LOT of video of the submersion! Stacey and I got in the water and had to repel down a rope over the glass people look in.

This big guy is the first shark we encountered, they are Grey Nurse Sharks. Very mild, not much attitude which is a good thing.

These big fish were very curious about us! Our tour guide (the diver with the little red thing on his head) kept pushing them away and throwing bubbles at them. He was nice enough to take some video for us so I can get in there too, and one was right above me being all sneaky!

And now for the stars! The Grey Nurse Sharks! The do look bigger through the glass, but wow some of these guys are ugly! On the way out of the tank, when our walk-about was done I was awaiting my turn and I saw a shark to my right and got some more video of him, and noticed he wasn't stopping! Coming right towards me! The instructor indicated to keep my arms in and stay still and I did, and the shark turned away and I was hit with his tail! Other than that, really wasn't nervous. It was fun and worth it!

Here are some of the other sea life in the tank. Beautiful fish, the some of the sharks like to nibble on. A sting ray, SOO happy he floated on by we didn't see him at all until we were getting out! The Sea Turtles which are HUGE! But they couldn't be out while divers are in the water cause they will bite! And a Spotted Eagle Ray! Which we think he was kept separate from the tank because it is a rare animal.

Thank you to all the Busan Staff for letting us dive and shoot! You were great!

Can't wait to do this in open water!

Home Safe!

Got home safe from our diving trip!  Here is how the day went...

- Got up round 715 this morning, and double checked all my stuff, bathing suit, towel, still camera, video camera and most importantly underwater camera case!

- Called a cab into the office and met up with the others.

- Went to Seoul Station and hopped on a 3 hour train ride to Busan.

- Made it to the Aquarium

- Went through the paperwork and instruction then suited up!

 - Got in the water and didn't get NOMed on!  But we did get to look around and keep some shark teeth!

- Got out and cleaned off, looked around the Busan Aquarium a but and headed back to the train station!

- 3 hour train ride home!  Got in about 10 tonight, had my friend believe I was bit :-)

Fun and productive day!  Just wanted to let all know I am back safely and all in one piece!

Lots of video to follow.

My Guest!

Introducing Stacey, who is the subject of our Diving trip with the sharks tomorrow!  She so very kindly agreed to be a guest blogger!

Take it away Stacey!

When you go to the Carribeian Island on a cruise for a week, who wouldn't go scuba diving? That's when my husband an I got bit, and not by a shark. We knew that this was a sport we wanted to take further. We got our Open Water certification Memorial weekend in 2008.

(Stacey)

He is a Master Scuba diver and I am a Rescue Diver, with many other certifications.

(Hubby)

I am also certified to go night diving, no that's fun.  You can see more fish, because their sleeping, yes they sleep.  If your careful, you can use your hands to move the water and move the fish upside down, and they don't even know it at first, until you light wakes them up, and off they go, righting themselves.

(Trumpet Fish)

I'm always up for going diving, as you never know what you are going to see. I have dove many places 2 to 4 times, and I still see different and new stuff.

(Under the Sea)

So when I heard of the chance to dive in a big tank full of sharks, that I know are not super aggressive, I thought, sure, why not.  It'll be a new experience.  My husband has done it at the Mall of America, and he came back in one piece. And what is nice about diving is that you can do it as long as your healthy, age doesn't matter. And it's easy on the body, I'm too old to play intense sports anymore. And it is something my husband and I enjoy doing together.

Thank you so much for sharing your life underwater!

We start our journey to the Shark Tank at 8:30 tomorrow morning!  We plan to come back with all our limbs intact!

Random Thought...

Not so much as a random thought than a statement with details I don't want to get into...

I do NOT like to be touched by strangers!  Especially sloppy drunk on a weekday strangers!
